I will say may the odds ever be in favor of the Originals.

The whole season up until this point, it’s been the Originals versus the regular vampires and the humans. And now it’s all coming to a head. Somebody — if not multiple people — has to die in order to save others. It’s a war to survive. Elijah represents the Originals and he’s gonna try to make sure none of the Originals die, whereas the humans are trying to make sure the vampires they’ve befriended and grown to love don’t die. So everyone’s just trying to look out for themselves and continue the bloodline.” Things are going to get tricky, and Elijah and Rebekah will be in this episode. There is the whole matter of Rebekah wanting revenge on Elena—and the shot in the promo of her watching the car with Matt and Elena inside go over the bridge—and if Elena dies, Alaric dies. Rebekah’s not going to be shedding any tears over Elena’s death, especially since it would take Alaric out of the picture. However, Elijah does seem to have a soft spot for Elena, and the promo does show him saying it’s up to them whether or not they trust him. He has betrayed them before, so he’s not the most trustworthy guy, but if it came down to it, you have to wonder if he would choose Elena or Rebekah. Rebekah is family, but he has surprised you in the past.
