This totally required another new post since it’s too amazing. So we decided to write it separately.
As we all know Crimson Sky Con was held on 16th and 17th June in Vienna and there was a private Meet and Greet with the cast during which Joseph talked about his belief in marriage, why actors don’t date normal ordinary women and many more things.
Here is an exclusive report from M&G with Joseph. Many thanks to my amazing friend Connie for sharing it with us.

I finally have the time to give you some review of the M&G I had with Joseph, Matt and Michael. I really tried to remember all the questions Joseph answered but it’s really hard because I was running around the whole weekend, either to panels or photo shoots, autograph sessions or to the M&G and because of the Generation Change-booth.

But I remember a few questions so I’ll share them with you – trying to get the wording as correct as possible:

1.One question was if they will ever get married:

Joseph said that he does not want to marry because he does not see the need of marriage. If he loves a woman and they have a serious, long term relationship in his eyes it is not needed to get some written “proof” for people around or for government as long as they both know that they belong together. Joseph would only consider marriage if the woman really, really, really wants to get married.

2.Why are actors usually not dating “ordinary” people and would they date a non-actress:

Joseph said that he would (and did) date “ordinary” women (he did set the word “ordinary” in quotation marks because he thinks that ordinary women are great). But the big problem is work-schedules. He told us it is really hard to have a serious relationship with someone who is working 9 to 5 if you do have such crazy schedules with night shootings, PR-appointments and stuff. He said an actress would be more understanding because they know how business does work. That’s why most actors end up with other actresses not because “ordinary” women are less attractive or something.

3.They were asked about on-screen kisses and if they’re causing problems in off-screen relationships:

Joseph explained that he once had a relationship with a non-actress (back to question 2 ;)) and she was really crossing her fingers for him everytime he got to audition for a role. And she also really was happy for him if he finally got a job. But first question always was “Do you have to kiss???” He was pointing out the second question, mentioning that this is one thing where actresses are more understandable because they know from experience that kissing-scenes are everything but romantic or erotic.

Matt was interjecting that there most of the time is NO chemistry between the actors which have to kiss or make out but they’re trying to produce chemistry which is really hard. Matt (which is a true player with an unbelievable charisma I can tell you after this weekend) said that for example he loves Sara Canning because she’s an amazing person but there was no romantic chemistry between the two of them. So you’re trying to act like you’re totally attracted to your opposite but there always is a mic right to your faces, also several cameras and a lot of set-people are surrounding you.

Then one girl said something like “So intimidate scenes are even worse?” and Joseph was just laughing. He pointed out to “Ben Hur” and the sex scene he had. He couldn’t stop laughing whilst telling us the story. He said it was SO damn hot inside that room but set-people were spraying Glycerine on their bodies again and again so they would look sweaty. Big problem was that the windows were open and a lot of bugs were coming inside, sticking on the Glycerine on their bodies. So everytime they did interrupt shooting people were running to them, picking all the bugs from their bodies. He couldn’t stop laughing and said: “So everytime you’ll watch that scene again, think about the bugs on my body!!!”

4.How is Claire Holt?

Most actresses are capricious and kinda difficult (all three tried to find nicer terms but they couldn’t ;)). I can’t remember what they exactly said, but summary is: Claire really is a gem and they’re all are totally looking forward to see her again.

5.Joseph was asked why he does not really have a heavy British accent off-screen :

He explained that every British person does have an accent but for him TVD is the first role he got, where his accent is really needed and appreciated. All the other roles he got before, there was American accent needed. So over the years he was forming a habit of speaking with a slight British accent off-screen.

6.Do they ever watch TVD in other languages when they’re in other countries? And if yes, what does he think about his German dubbing-voice:

Joseph said he once was watching TVD in Spanish and found it very funny. But he never watched it in German dub. We all were sighing and he was like “Why?? What’s wrong with the German voice??” and we tried to explain that Klaus has a very ordinary German voice, not threatening or something at all. Plus the British accent, which is defining the Originals is totally missed. So he got really excited about that and asked “Can I watch that somewhere?? Do I find it on youtube??!” Also he wanted to know if Klaus is still saying “sweetheart” in German dubbing, but we had to disappoint him because it’s “Liebling” so he tried to use that word a few times to get used to it, which was pretty cute!

Joseph really was such a sweet person the whole weekend – my first “meeting” was when I was sitting on the very end of first row during the first panel with Ian and Paul and there were Security guys leaving the backstage area right in front of me and I thought “Uh?! What’s going on?” and suddenly Joseph was passing by. I was like “Oh wow! This is Joseph Morgan!” staring at him but he was smiling. Later I was third or fourth in row for the photo shoot. His agent was kinda bitchy, shouting “No hugs, no kisses!” again and again (he also brought Joseph away after half an hour because he was not willing to wait until next bunch of people will appear for shooting :(). But Joseph was really sweet, asking me how I am doing.

I also had seen Joseph several times, i was sitting right in front of him during his panel on Saturday and he was looking down at me a few times (at least I think so because you can never be sure where they are looking). When I walked towards Ian and Joseph on Sunday, Ian was looking at me like “wow!!”, grinning and said out loud “Now that’s a tall drink of water!” and Joseph said “Oh yeahhh…”, both eyeballing me and laughing (don’t get me wrong – they weren’t offending at all, they made me blush *lol*). I – thank god!!! – did not understand what the phrase does mean, I only did understand “tall” so I was laughing and trying to shrink myself by bending my knees. But Ian did not accept that. He did push me up on my back saying “Noooo! Stand up and be a tall beautiful woman!” Ians sweet assistant Jessica was in front of us, also Sandra from Generation Change which did co-organize that con – both laughing heartily. So I think Sandra was the person I was looking at, on that pic. But I really love that picture because this is even more sincere and honest than the one I took with Ian. I felt so relaxed between those two guys and Joseph is smiling which was a very rare thing on photo shoot-pictures this weekend.

I got to know Joseph as a very humble, sweet and maybe even unconfident person. Everytime he got a compliment, he was very flattered, even blushing (you know the pictures), which makes him really sympathetic. More than once I wanted to just cuddle him and tell him that he really is loved (which people did show him many times but I guess he was not able to totally accept it). He had such an amazing interaction with Ian, the panel was hilarious! I couldn’t understand people like you that love him, at all. But as I already said: He totally convinced me that weekend.
